A fairytale Christmas in Košice

The most beautiful holidays of the year begin in Košice already on the first Advent Sunday, December 1 . At the stroke of 4 p.m., the program of the 29th edition of Košice's popular fairytale Christmas starts with the lighting of the Christmas tree and decorations near the statue of Immaculata on Hlavná Street.

The fabulous opening of the city's most beautiful series of events will consist of an opening dance and music show. This will be connected with the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree, St. Elizabeth's Cathedral, Hlavná and adjacent streets, together with the landscape of Rozprávkovo in the City Park.

The city center will be transformed into a "Christmas town" with the main stage at Immaculate during almost the whole of December. Christmas programs will be on Hlavná Street every day until December 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Among the more famous artists, e.g. Pavol Hammel, Juraj Burian, Samo Tomeček or several revival ensembles. The programs will be enlivened by the performances of dance masters from well-known Košice dance groups, or several other musical or singing numbers. After the end of the evening program, the popular Christmas radio will be played on Hlavná - live mixing of Christmas songs and popular DJ hits directly from the main stage next to the Christmas tree.

The Christmas markets in the area between Immaculata and almost to OD Urban start already on Friday, November 29 . They will be open until the very end of the year, with the exception of a break on December 24 and 25. Even this time, their visitors can visit them every day from 9:00 a.m. look forward to 46 stalls with a rich offer of Christmas specialties, tasty dishes, baked or grilled delicacies, boiled chocolate, wine and mead. This year, the offer will also include Christmas pastries and sweets made by grandma, enriched with special Christmas gift items.
