||ALA|MEDA|| + peace between floors

||ALA|MEDA|| is one of the most innovative and original bands to emerge from the Polish underground scene in recent years. They are known for their genre-defying approach and constant search for new musical languages – whether it was the noisy, jazz-influenced neo-krautrock on the album Duch Tornada (2015) or the polyrhythmic avant-prog on Eurodrome (2019), the result was always surprising, imaginative and outside the usual musical boxes.

With their latest project Spectra (2022/2024), a complete shift is coming – the band is diving into reinterpretations of both traditional and modern African and Latin American rhythms, which have also permeated their previous work to a lesser extent. The new face of ||ALA|MEDA|| is defined by highly syncopated rhythms performed by two drummers and a bassist, which form the structure for wild post-internet and deconstructed electronic collages.

Spectra is a spectralist work on many levels – it composes counterintuitive continua of different musical worlds and connects gqom, free jazz, UK bass, krautrock, IDM, post-industrial and batida into one unpredictable whole.

The duo MEZI PATRY KLID balances experimental micro dubstep trap beats and folk samples, and won an award for the song Lojza Kotřábek in the Bastl Electronic Track open call at the Vinyl Awards in 2023. In early 2024, they released the singles Linh a děti and Rrap, which herald their debut eponymous album medzi patry klid.
