The play was written for the National Theatre London by Beth Steele and was nominated for the 2024 Play of the Year Award immediately after its premiere. As the theatre's website says: "It is a passionate, heartbreaking and hilarious portrayal of a larger -than-life family struggling to cope with a changing world."

During the hot summer, the family gathers for the wedding of the youngest sister Sylvia. The sisters, the widower father, the crazy aunt, her husband and others, even the youngest member of the family, witness the testing not only of family relationships, but also of the contrasts of love and loyalty. And what's more, a Pole is about to marry into the family, a classic economic immigrant of modern British history. After all, a wedding is often the litmus test of relationships.

THE PERFORMANCE USES EXPRESSIVE WORDS AND IS SUITABLE FOR AGE 18 AND UP.

Location: National Theatre / Small Stage
