Braňo Mazúch: The Factory (Party for the 50 Most Beautiful People) - PREVIEW
A unique event is coming up at the Puppet Theatre of the Košice Region, which goes beyond the boundaries of traditional theatre form. The multi-genre production The Factory , subtitled A Party for the 50 Most Beautiful People, aims to appeal not only to art lovers, but also to anyone looking for bold theatre experiences, new impulses and a space for dialogue between the stage and the audience.
The direction and script are overseen by the innovative creator, educator and director Braňo Mazúch, who is implementing the project in collaboration with the talented Chilean set designer Pedro Enrique Gramegna Ardiles.
The directors accepted the challenge to work creatively with the space of the experimental drama stage Jorik, which from 1995 to 2007 represented a significant platform for experimental drama theatre, extending beyond the borders of eastern Slovakia. Their goal is to create a dynamic and captivating parallel to the metaphysical space of Andy Warhol's legendary art studio - The Factory in New York.
Warhol's work and inspirations from the 1960s – from pop art, through free creative experiments, to disturbing questions about death, love and the meaning of art – form the main thematic axis of the production. It offers viewers the opportunity to look into their own emotions and attitudes and discover new aspects of themselves in them, similar to what Warhol's legendary The Factory enabled.
The project's ambition is to blur the line between artists and audience: the viewer becomes a co-creator of the event, interacting with the stage, props and actors. You will find yourself in a "silver studio", where situations referencing Warhol's iconic film experiments take place side by side.
Noise, music, dancing, and raw emotional scenes – all of this forms a "party" that does not emphasize a story with a clear beginning and end, but rather an authentic experience full of intense sensations.
The production of The Factory (Party for the 50 Most Beautiful People) represents not only an artistic restart of the Jorik stage, but also a new challenge for all those who are not afraid to step out of the comfort zone of theatrical conventions.
The production is intended for young viewers aged 16 and over and for adult audiences .
