Oscar winner Edward Berger (All Things New in the West) brings to the big screen a story from the Vatican, where the conclave is about to begin - one of the most secretive and historically oldest events in the world. After the unexpected death of a beloved pope, Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with overseeing the election of a new head of the Catholic Church. Cardinals from around the world gather behind the locked doors of the Sistine Chapel to choose the best among themselves. There are several hot candidates, but Cardinal Lawrence gradually reveals certain facts that could shake the very foundations of the Church.
