Experience science with SAS

The Slovak Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with the city of Košice, invites you to a unique science and popularization event, Experience Science with the SAS, which will take place on May 15 and 16, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the center of Košice at Dolná brána.

For two days, the street will be transformed into a diverse exhibition gallery of scientific knowledge. The stands will feature research teams from various scientific institutes and centers of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, offering a glimpse into the world that is normally hidden behind the doors of laboratories and workrooms.

Enter the world of remarkable discoveries and talk to real scientists about the vast universe or tiny parasites, uncover the secrets of the human body, discover new materials and technologies, and embark on a journey through history and into the depths of the human mind.

Children, students, and adults can try out the work of a scientist through interactive activities, games, and experiments - whether they are inclined toward biology, physics, archaeology, or medicine.

There will also be a rich accompanying program, such as interviews with scientists, a science show, a trivia quiz, and a concert by the Shamrock Redheads band on Friday evening.

Experience science like never before - up close, playful, exploratory and inspiring. Meet the people who are pushing the boundaries of knowledge and let yourself be drawn into a world that is an everyday part of our lives - even if we often don't realize it.
