Imrich Svitana – Periphery of consciousness
It represents an effort to revise, reevaluate and re-present a selection from more than sixty years of extensive creative activity, consisting of free drawing, joke drawing, illustrative study drawing - with motifs connecting two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual media; chamber sculpture, sculptural work, monumental realizations for public space, a series of zoomorphic climbing frames for children's playgrounds, medal creation and, last but not least, jewelry creation.
The author's restless, never-resting mind stands behind such an extensive list of art forms, an unfathomable number of studies, designs and final realizations. As if on a conveyor belt, he produces playful scrums of subjects, resulting in materially diverse, ingeniously critical, sometimes illustrative or naïve geometric forms, connecting and abstracting figure and architecture, based on personal experiences, global cultural and social events, history and science fiction.
