Kaschauer Klezmer Band - concert

Summer in the Kulturpark will also bring a small taste of klezmer music performed by the Kaschauer Klezmer Band. Visitors will be able to enjoy a captivating interpretation of well-known and unique songs primarily in Yiddish, but also in Slovak, English and Balkan languages through a concert on August 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the park.

The artistic director of the Kaschauer Klezmer Band, clarinetist Vlado Sidimák, founded the Košice musical group in 2011. Following the model of European klezmer bands as well as orchestras from the United States, he created a repertoire of instrumental compositions and vocals. It includes melodies of various rhythms - from polka to waltz to very fast dance rhythms and instrumental compositions inspired by Balkan, Russian and Arabic melodies and imbued with Eastern Slovak folkloric sensibilities.
