MAN AND ART, FiloCafé – an evening with philosophical dialogues
We invite you to an evening of philosophical dialogues over coffee or tea, where you will have the opportunity to reflect together and share experiences on the topic of art - how we perceive it, its place, mission and roles in the life of an individual and society, the challenges and traps of perception and their causes and solutions, in a broader context, also based on the ideas and quotes of historical and modern personalities.
The event is taking place as part of New Acropolis' global campaign entitled "Towards Unity through Diversity".
Topics for dialogues:
Art – what it actually is, where it comes from and what it depends on
Its importance, place and meaning in the life of an individual and society
Challenges and traps of perception and fulfillment - creating works of art
Art and artworks have accompanied humans since time immemorial – prehistoric hunters decorated their cave walls, and today we also decorate our walls with various paintings. Why do we do it? What does art help us with? Why are there so many types of art, styles, and expressions? And what is art, what makes a work of art artistic? Can martial arts or the art of war also be considered art? What about the art of life?
We will reflect on these and other questions and topics together in the next FiloCafé - an evening where there will be an opportunity to "philosophize" together over a cup of coffee or tea - to reflect and share our knowledge and experiences not only in the field of art, but in all areas it encompasses.
We will open the evening with a short talk on the topic of the evening - art , how we perceive it, the factors that influence it, and how it affects society as a whole and each of us, based on selected ideas from ancient and modern teachings, sages, and philosophers, so that we can then address various questions related to the topic of the evening in groups .
In groups, participants will be able to exchange their opinions, inspire each other, engage in conversations, or just listen. We will finally summarize each group's observations together and end the event with a final talk on the topic of the evening.
The event is part of the international project of New Acropolis entitled "Towards Unity through Diversity ".
The evening will be accompanied by the head of the Košice branch, Mr. Rastislav Harčarufka, a lecturer at Nova Akropolis, who has completed the study program of Eastern and Western philosophy, psychology, ethics and symbolism.
