The plate, as a cultural and private attribute, connects small and large histories.
The installation Sediment by Andrei Čepiššáková tells the story of the smallest, directly connected to the rhythm of domestic life. The author hides the invisible work in the house and the daily care for others – the timing and intensity of which are determined by intimate relationships – in an undulating porcelain landscape. She takes on the properties of the material – resistance and fragility. The installation was created from plates donated by people who responded to the author’s call. Meetings, mutual exchanges of stories and new intergenerational friendships have thus become part of the structured collective work.
