P. Dušová: The Devil and the Duck

In our production, children will meet the quarrelsome and mouthy Kača, who would only have fun and most of all would like to dance. But no one wants to dance with an unkempt and sullen girl. However, Kača is so obsessed with dancing that she decides to dance even with the devil. And wonder the world, he turns out to be a great gentleman and dancer. However, when the devil wants to leave, Kača suddenly hangs around his neck and does not want to let him go. The devil has no choice but to return to hell with Kača. But even in hell, Kača would like to give orders and have fun, so the devil has to take her back. She is freed by the gelding Miško, who takes her off the devil's shoulders. Our main heroine will not have it easy at all. Her transformation from lazy and mouthy to the birth of a new and better woman, who is able to sacrifice herself for others, will certainly be instructive for the child viewer. But we will not reveal more. How this transformation occurs, the child viewer will see at our performances. Together with Kača, she will experience many adventurous moments, but also humorous plots. Petronella Dušová's play can be described as a comedy, which the author preserves in her theatrical adaptation. She plays the basic characters of the story within the possibilities of classical puppet theater for a chamber cast. Its interpreters are an actress and an actor, who also take over the conflict of the quarrelsome woman in opposition to her male partner into their "private" plan. Thus, the motif of the quarrelsome woman is also strengthened in drama.

The puppet fairy tale The Devil and the Duck will introduce children to marionette theater and present the power and magic of flat puppets.

The author of the scenic music and songs is the famous Košice composer Marián Čekovský, the music was recorded by the Kandráč family.

The production is suitable for children from 3 years old.
