SLAM POETRY: BEST OF SK/CZ
BEST OF SK/CZ SLAM is a format whose history is connected with Slam Poetry CZ and excellent events in Prague and Pilsen. Every year, slammers from both countries meet to compete and discover the magic of the fraternal scene. You can enjoy this format in Tabačka this year as well, and the real top performers will be:
CZ:
Anatol Svahilec: A synonym for Czech slam and a true international star. He has performed on several continents or countries, e.g. in Germany, Poland, Belgium, Estonia, Quebec or Ghana. He is the champion of the Czech Republic in 2014. His solid lyrics are legendary in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He is the author of three slam collections. He regularly hosts slam at the POHODA festival.
Dr Filipitch: Dr Filipitch is one of the most successful slammers on the Czech scene. He is the Czech champion in 2018 and this year he also placed in the top ten of the European Championship. He is a multiple finalist of the Czech championships, a moderator of slams and his own discussion show slam TALK.
Krála: Vice-champion of the Czech Republic 2023 and two-time champion of Femislam (2023, 2024). Student of cultural anthropology from the Ústí nad Labem region. Carved from the material of emancipated courtesans and artists.

Bedňa: Since 2014, he has been engaged in musical comedy and stand-up, in 2022 he became the Slovak champion in slam poetry, from where he advanced to the European Championships in Rome and then to the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. In 2022, he also won the national round of the Kontakt songwriting competition. He studied film directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and is currently studying multimedia composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. He is also involved in amateur theater.
Freya: Last year's champion of Slovakia, who doesn't like to win and doesn't like to lose even more. Ever since she read that Aristotle recommends finding a middle ground between two extremes, she has become obsessed with making decisions in all aspects. If she doesn't get angry in her lyrics, she probably loves. An emotional poet, an impulsive person and an existential enigma, aware of her own perspective.
Samčo Brother of the Umbrellas: Slovak Champion for 2018, improvisers and an endless stream of thought of dadaist connections with an unexpected ending. Samčo is a legend of the underground and alternative scene, but he is not far behind in slam poetry. At the European Championships in 2018, he even impressed the founder of slam, Marc Smith.
