VIRVAR 2025: Kamil – puppet theater

The 𝐕𝐈𝐑𝐕𝐀𝐑 International Puppet Theatre Festival is entering its 13th year and will bring a diverse range of theatrical forms, stories and artistic worlds to Košice. The Košice Region Puppet Theatre will offer exceptional productions for children, youth and adult audiences from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine and Poland.

In Kasárny/Kulturpark, children will see the original play Kamil by the renowned Polish author for children and one of the most performed authors in Polish puppet theaters, Marta Guśniowska, on June 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. In a special style, she humorously and sensitively presents the world of animals and people.

In today's world, the coexistence of humans and dogs is one of the current topics. We can find a dog in almost every household. What is it like to have a dog? What does it bring? What to humans and what to dogs? Who learns from whom? Can we take care of each other? What does it mean for a dog and its owner, the dog Kamil will tell us. He may be a puppet, but he is not a fairy tale creature. Nor is he a puppet "stuffed toy". Our Kamil is a living creature. That's how we perceive him and that's how we play with him.

Before the performance, viewers can look forward to an outdoor bubble show.
