Tips

Most of the cafés and restaurants have staff, excluding fast food venues. The staff in tourist restaurants appreciate tips of around 5–10 %.

When Slovaks order one drink, they tend to round the price to € 0.50 or the closest euro. When a waiter brings the check, a customer usually says how much he/she wants to pay. When you pay with a card, cash tips are preferred.

Potable water

It is safe to drink tap water in Košice, so you can fill your bottle anywhere in the city or in your hotel room.
