Original plays by independent theatre artists

Discover the faces and focal points of Košice culture right in the centre of the action and on the theatre boards that mean the world. A unique artistic experience will be brought to you by the actors and original plays of the independent Theatre Na Peróne, which is located on Kováčská Street right in the heart of the historical monument reserve.

In addition to the author's plays with burning themes that reflect the current state of society, the theatre also houses a pleasant café, where you can enjoy a delicious matcha or Slovak wines before or after the performance. During March, the theatre offers the plays A Few Sketches for Suicide, The Girl from the Bottom of the Sea and Sad News from a Sad Country. Solo travellers with a desire to learn something new in the field of verbal skills are also recommended the inspiring workshop Neblyaboc!

Your solo date in Košice can't do without an authentic movie experience in one of the city's most popular hip spots. Visit Kasárenská námestie, where you will find a 100+ year old complex Cinema Smilewhich is famous as a popular meeting point for all ages, whether you come here for the latest blockbuster, an art film in the Impulse Hall, or just to enjoy an alcoholic beverage or homemade honey lemonade. During the warmer months, the cinema offers an attractive outdoor terrace in front of the interior with a façade awarded in an architectural competition as well as the famous street food stall Robinček.
