A. Veselov.
Puppet play by Aleksandr Veselov Sunshine and the Snow People, translated by Valery Kupka, is intended for children from three years of age. It is written tenderly and sensitively with regard to the child's soul and the child's world.
The director of the puppet production Sunshine and the Snow People is the well-known Belarusian director Oleg Žiugžda, who has also collaborated with our theatre in the past on the fairy tale Filipko and the Hedgehog. The play develops the theme of sacrifice and togetherness in its layers. The main characters are snowmen who, over time, discover that what they fear - the sun and the sun's warmth - the animals in the forest need very much. But the more sun there is, the less snow is left of the snowmen. It is only by meeting the animals that they realise that the rhythm of nature will actually help them come back again next year. So they decide to give away their body parts to help their animal friends eagerly waiting for the sun's rays, i.e. for the arrival of spring. Although at the beginning of the game they wished the sun would never come out, they gradually discover how important the sun's rays are for the lives of others. They are left with the hope that after spring, summer and autumn, winter will be here again and they will once again experience pleasant moments at the time that is most beautiful for them. The intention is an interactive collaboration of actors with the youngest audience members and experiential education of the children's audience through artistic imagery. The aim is to teach children about the laws of nature and its strong influence on human life, but also about the need for self-sacrifice and love.
The production is suitable for children aged 3 and up.
