Creative drumming - workshop

We would like to welcome you to the Wuppertal Exchange on February 3, 2026 at 4:30 pm for an energetic Creative Drumming activity that focuses on rhythm, relaxation and group dynamics. We will explore intuitive djembe drumming and finding your own creative voice in a shared rhythm. This activity is suitable for beginners and advanced drummers.

Our community is built on sharing skills, so towards the end of the drumming session, more experienced drummers will be happy to teach others basic techniques and rhythms.

Why is djembe drumming a great activity? Drumming greatly encourages and develops:

Concentration: active rhythmic playing improves concentration and mental presence.
Motor skills: It exercises both fine and gross motor skills and coordination.
Heart Rhythm: The natural resonance with the rhythm of the drum harmonizes the body as drumming intuitively follows the heart rhythm.
Non-verbal communication: playing together teaches listening and effective communication without words.
Friendly relationships: Creating a common rhythm strengthens cohesion and builds friendly relationships within the group.

Come and enjoy the joy of creative play and a shared experience. It is ideal if you bring your own drum (djembe) or other rhythmic musical instrument (e.g. percussion). Several instruments will also be available on site.
