FILOCAFÉ: MAN IN HAPPINESS AND UNHAPPINESS, AN EVENING WITH PHILOSOPHICAL DIALOGUES
Happiness or unhappiness - how often do they occur in our lives?! We invite you to an evening of philosophical dialogues over coffee or tea, in which this time we will look together at this very familiar pair - what they actually are and what they are not, what they stem from, how they are related, who or what influences and decides which of them and how they manifest themselves, and how to deal with them?
Thematic headings for the dialogues:
what (not) happiness and unhappiness are, what they stem from, and how they are related
who and/or what influences and decides what it will be, which will manifest itself
how to deal with them, how to manage them, how to stay still oneself
At the beginning of the year or on other occasions, we get into the habit of wishing each other good luck, among other things. But do we really know what happiness actually means? And what about its opposite - unhappiness? What do they stem from, how are they related, what do they depend on, how do we deal with them, and who and/or what determines whether it's one or the other?
We invite you to the next FiloCafé, where once again there will be an opportunity to reflect together, to share experiences and inspirations on what we so often encounter in our lives - happiness and unhappiness.
We will open the evening with a short talk on the theme of the evening, looking at what happiness and unhappiness are and what they are not, where they stem from and how they are related; how to work with them - how to achieve and not lose, or conversely avoid and manage them; and who and/or what influences or decides what of it and how it manifests. We will list selected historical and contemporary approaches and contexts so that we can then work in groups to address various issues relevant to the evening's theme. Participants will be able to exchange views, inspire each other, engage in conversations or just listen.
Finally, we will summarize the insights from the discussions together and end the event with a final talk on the theme of the evening.
The evening will be accompanied by the Head of the Košice Branch, Mr. Rastislav Harčarufka, lecturer at Nova Akropolis, who has completed a programme of studies in Eastern and Western philosophy, psychology, ethics and symbolism. He conducts courses and lectures in which he draws on his many years of teaching and professional practice and experience in integrating knowledge from various fields (science, technology, ethics, history, philosophy and psychology).
