Giuseppe Verdi: NABUCCO

The world-famous opera Nabucco is the third stage work by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi and premiered in 1842 at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan. The plot of the opera tells the story of the ancient ruler Nebuchadnezzar II, the clash of religious cultures, the endless thirst to control the world around him and the eternal human desire to be like God. The opera is rightly one of the most celebrated operas in the entire context of world musical theatre.
