ONO TO TAO O - the unnamed principle that precedes all forms. In Taoist philosophy, TAO is the way, the flow, the dynamic balance between what is and what becomes. For Esther, it is a concept of unity and harmony, but also an open question: the principle of being, existence, center, neutrality, wholeness, creation from itself, cycle, nature. It is not something that can be grasped or defined - it is the very essence of being and transformation.

Ester Sabik works with photography as a meditative medium. She refers to herself as a collector of light - and this is exactly what her photographs capture in the moments in between - between light and dark, between touching and separation, between the visible and the hidden. They are fragments of a continuous process of creation and decomposition that is always going on, whether we observe it or not.

The sublime and the beautiful - themes that the artist has been dealing with for a long time - are not just aesthetic categories in her work. Rather, they are qualities of attention, a way of looking at the world. The exhibition works with two lines: the concrete and the abstract. The photographic image is the supporting layer, complemented by the drawing and the object. The exhibition also includes the artist's alchemical association cards - as a medium that resonates with the theme of the sacred and the sublime, the search for the symbolic in the everyday.

The photographs were created gradually over the course of 2017-2025, as a long-term meditation on light and time. The fragility of a sunset, the tenderness of a hand's touch, the silence of a landscape - these are all archetypes that we understand intuitively, across cultures and experiences. The work is autobiographical in the deepest sense - it captures the artist's inner world and transcends it at the same time. The making of a work is as mysterious a process as the making of a life. Both are based on the same primordial principle - ONO TO TAO O.
