IFF Art Film 2026 - Film Festival

Date
19.06 - 25.06.2026
Time
10:00

The 32nd edition of the IFF Art Film International Film Festival will bring not only premieres and local filmmakers to the city, but also tributes to actors, a programme for families with children and professional meetings. And what is important for Košice audiences - the highlights of the festival will take place in the most representative spaces of the city: in the Kunsthalle/Hall of Arts, the Historical Town Hall, the Kasárny/Kulturpark and other locations in the wider centre of Košice.

This year, the Kunsthalle/Hala umenia Košice will be a representative venue for the opening ceremony of the festival, which will provide a dignified space for the opening ceremony. It is here that one of the most outstanding actresses of Slovak-Czech cinema - Anna Šišková- will receive the honorary award of the Actor's Mission. The Baroque-Classical Historical Town Hall will be the second main venue of the festival. It is here that Richard Müller will receive the Milan Lasica Award in memoriam - for his father, the icon of Slovak film acting Vladislav Müller (1936 - 1996). Kasárne/Kulturpark will provide two cinema halls with a total capacity of 300 seats and space for the festival's professional programme. The youngest viewers aged 7 to 15 will be welcomed by a programme section dedicated to films for children with accompanying activities for the whole family.

From the rich festival selection, the programming department this year highlights the In the Light of Shadows section - a mosaic of women's stories balancing between what society expects of heroines and what they themselves desire. Audiences can look forward to the French drama Coutures starring Angelina Jolie, the Berlinale 2026 Silver Bear-winning filmRose, the intimate drama 17 from the Perspectives section, Street of Málaga by Moroccan director Maryam Touzani (Venice IFF Audience Award) and the cult Indian film Queen Rani.
