Košice Music Spring 2026

The Košice Music Spring (KHJ) is one of the oldest music festivals in Slovakia, its history dates back to 1956. Since then, it has grown into an international event that offers exceptional musical experiences and is synonymous with artistic quality.

The festival's programme offers classical music, symphonic and chamber concerts, multi-genre events and other formats with top artistic performances.

KHJ hosts renowned artists, ensembles and orchestras from abroad and Slovakia. The resident orchestra of the festival is the Slovak State Philharmonic Košice.

Visitors can enjoy a dose of spring classics in the concert hall of the State Philharmonic Košice, as well as in other captivating spaces. Music is exported to the historic hall of the East Slovak Gallery with its perfectly precise acoustics or the Orthodox synagogue on Zvonárská Street. Classical music works well with Gothic music in the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Cathedral or the creative space of the Kosice Tabačka.

KHJ is gradually fulfilling its ambition to approach the model of large European festivals with a condensed concert calendar. In addition to a line of musical experiences, since the 69th edition, the festival has also included the recording of an album with works by Slovak composers.
