Lars Von Trier: IDIOTS

Everybody's an airplane, only I'm the crazy one.

A small group of intellectuals have a special predilection - they play idiots, provoke people in public, create non-standard situations, put unsuspecting victims in uncomfortable situations, provoke unexpected reactions. However, breaking down stereotypes, mocking bourgeois morality or seemingly interesting sociological experiment has its own pitfalls, at the same time it poses interesting questions, explores the limits of spontaneity, freedom, manipulation, tolerance. How long can one play like this without going mad, and what happens when individuals playing idiots get together with a group of really handicapped people?

The play is based on the film of the same name by the provocateur and enfant terrible of Danish cinema, Lars von Trier.
