M. Ďuríčková - P. Palik: Guľko Bombuľko
The theme of Guľko Bombuľko is friendship and social inclusion as an expression of human nature, which is enhanced in the fairy tale by the altruism of the main character. It is precisely because of his good heart that the animals in Bombulik's backyard quickly take a liking to him. He gives everyone a piece of his warm wool.
In 2019, we will commemorate the centenary of the important Slovak writer for children and youth, Maria Ďuríčková. This round anniversary was one of the reasons that prompted the dramaturgy of the Puppet Theatre in Košice to reach for the author's fairy tale O Guľka Bombuľka (About Guľka Bombuľka). The charming fairy tale story was written in 1962 and is still loved by children today. It is intended just for the youngest readers and in our case the audience. The main character in the production is truly atypical, as she is a curious ball of wool who one day falls out of her grandmother's basket and wanders into the yard. There, the friendly ball of wool gets to know all of its inhabitants. Although the theme is based on a substance close to a child's imagination, the author of the script, Peter Palik, has replaced the plane of the narrator in Ďuríček's prose with two actors. Bombshell's best friend becomes Pip the hen. But not all of the court are really sincere friends. For example, the cunning cat Lisa grinds her teeth on all his wool and almost rips him all to pieces in the process. Bombshell has lots of fun and adventurous stories with the animals. As it is the case with Maria Ďuríčková, the story of the main character in our production ends happily.
The production is suitable for children from 3 years old.
