The tale of The Elephant Man, based on Rudyard Kipling's story, comes to the stage of the Puppet Theatre in Košice through the interpretation of the Ukrainian author and director Mikhail Urycky. The Elephant lives in the forest together with Hippo, Giraffe, Ostrich and Baboon. As he is always curious and asks questions about everything, the other animals lose patience with him and beat him up. In a fit of rage, they even want to give him to Crocodile, whom Elephant had never heard of before. Thus begins Elephant's journey to find the mysterious Crocodile and at the same time to learn more. Along the way he meets other animals and experiences both hilarious and dangerous stories. In the end, the Crocodile gives him the greatest gift a little Elephant could ever receive. The play is a parable with the world of people who prefer to live in a traditional stereotype rather than seek a different path to new horizons. The production is interesting and unconventional with its choreography, dancing and singing that transports the audience to far away Africa. The beautiful and elaborate puppets literally come to life on stage in the hands of the actors, and the combination of these factors makes Elephant Man a spectacular modern narrative performance for children and adults alike.

The production is suitable for children aged 3 and up.
