NDKE OPERA GALA CONCERT

The Opera of the National Theatre Košice cordially invites you to a spectacular opera gala concert of the soloists of the National Theatre Košice Opera. At the joint gala concert we will perform works focusing on the premieres of the last opera seasons of the National Theatre Košice, but we will also introduce the audience to future opera titles.

The concert will also focus on world premieres and works from 1926, marking their 100th anniversaries, namely J. L. Bella's Wieland the Blacksmith, G . Puccini, King Roger by K. Szymanowski, The Circus Princess by E. Kálmán, as well as the work of the young Eugen Suchoň, who at the age of 17 wrote the first Slovak ballet Angelika.

The arias from Puccini's Turandot will be performed on the exact anniversary of its world premiere at La Scala on 25 April 1926, and the first Slovak opera, Kováč Wieland, had its world premiere three days later, on 28 April 1926, at the Slovak National Theatre.

Under the baton of chief conductor Petr Valentovič, the soloists of the NDKE Opera, the NDKE Opera Orchestra and the NDKE Opera Chorus will perform.
