Prehistoric Silk Road
The Centre for Integrative Paleobiology TIP invites admirers of the prehistoric life of our planet to the first exhibition of the project Prehistoric Silk Road, which will be held in the Botanical Garden in the period 12.12.2025 - 18.1.2026 daily at 9h-15h.
The exhibition is held on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Czechoslovak paleoart, Zdeněk Burian.
Master Burian, in an unparalleled artistic way, brought to life a mysterious and unknown prehistoric age and awakened our own imagination about a world that existed millions of years ago. This exhibition includes an invitation to the second exhibition of the Prehistoric Silk Road project, which will take place in 2026.
We have opened a window into the story being written by Kosice scientists in Central Asia, where they are exploring life, environment and climate at the time of the last major global warming of our planet. We look forward to your visit!
The exhibition is supported by the Agency for Research and Development Support (APVV), the Scientific Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Academy of Sciences (VEGA), the Zdeněk Burian Museum in Štramberk (Czech Republic) and an expert on the work of the master Burian, the artist Peter Modlitb (Czech Republic).
