SCANDI: Let it rain - film
This year, the SCANDI Contemporary Nordic Film Showcase will present award-winning films from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland at prestigious film festivals. The twelfth edition will take place in cinemas all over Slovakia and Košice will be no exception. On 22 January 2026 at 18:00, the audience will see the Swedish comedy drama Let It Rain in Kasárny/Kulturpark.
Miracles supposedly don't exist... or do they? A touching comedy about a grumpy pensioner and widower whose life is turned upside down when he unexpectedly finds himself at the centre of an event that could bring much-needed rain to his drought-plagued small town - and change his relationship with his daughter and the community forever.
Oscar-nominated director Hannes Holm (A Man Named Ove) joins forces with Robert Gustafsson, star of the worldwide hit The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, to bring together a powerful, emotional and universal story about aging, the search for meaning in life and unlikely friendships. The film is based on the book of the same name by acclaimed Swedish author Jonas Karlsson, who also played one of the lead roles in the film.
