The Vagina Monologues 2026 / first meeting
On Thursday, there will be a first no-obligation meeting where you can find out more, meet women and girls who have experience of performing in 2025.
What are vagina monologues actually?
The Vagina Monologues is the title of a book of the same name by American writer, activist and playwright Eve Ensler. The text features authentic testimonies of women giving testimony about sex and female sexuality.
At the time of its creation, the work was hailed as a bible for a new generation and inspired the dynamic V-DAYmovement to end violence against women and girls.
Since 1998, public readings of the texts have been part of a worldwide movement to end violence against women and girls. Proceeds from the admission fees from the performance of The Vagina Monologues at Tabačka Kulturfabrik are regularly sent to Fenestra, an organization that has been systematically fighting against this violence for 25 years.
The performance will open on 11 March 2026.
If you are interested in the idea of fighting violence against women and girls and want to actively participate in the Vagina Monologues 2026 or if you are just curious and want to know more feel free to come to the first meeting. We hope that this year we will again meet a bunch of interesting and inspiring women who are eager to share together, the need for self-expression and the rejection of violence.
Find out more at the first informal meeting on Thursday 11 December, where there will be an opportunity to talk to women who have participated in previous years. We are waiting for you from 18:00 to 20:00.
Come to Tabačka Kulturfabrik, be brave and curious. Maybe you will discover a new passion for yourself, make contacts or 'just' spend a pleasant evening in the company of women for whom human rights and women's rights are something that still need to be fought for.
