VOLUNTARY AND SELFLESS, VOLUNTEER WORKSHOPS
On the eve of International Volunteers Day, we offer you the opportunity to do something selflessly, just with the good feeling that we could help someone and make the world a better place, through volunteer workshops.
During the volunteer workshops there will be short presentations at 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00 with the possibility of discussion on topics related to volunteering, such as:
selfless, voluntary and volunteering
why to find the space and time to volunteer and act voluntarily and voluntarily
the benefits of volunteering, social and individual
to take away, besides a good feeling, perhaps more knowledge and inspiration.
Acting in our lives can be different - for earning, reward and profit, or even selfless - voluntary. The importance of voluntary action, volunteering and volunteers is also commemorated by the 'International Day of Volunteers in Economic and Social Development', which was declared by the United Nations on 5 December to acknowledge and thank them for their efforts to raise awareness in different walks of life, as well as the multifaceted contributions they make to society.
New Acropolis, as an international volunteer-based organization, is organizing various events to support this initiative so that others can join volunteers around the world and together with them do something selflessly that will help the environment and make the world a better place.
In the Kosice branch of Nova Akropolis there will be an opportunity to join volunteer workshops from 14:00 to 20:00, where you will be able to make your own gifts for children from orphanages and crisis centres, or knit mats for animals in the shelter.
And if you have older, no longer needed cotton T-shirts, you can bring them, they can still be used.
You will be guided through the program by the head of the Košice branch, Mr. Rastislav Harčarufka, a lecturer at Nova Akropolis, who has completed a program of studies in Eastern and Western philosophy, psychology, ethics and symbolism. He leads courses and lectures in which he capitalizes on his many years of teaching and professional practice and experience in integrating knowledge from various fields (science, technology, ethics, history, philosophy and psychology).
Admission to the event is free.
Event duration: 6 hours
The number of participants is limited to 15 people.
