Coat of Arms

The title that every local Košice resident must recall, even at midnight. The famous story is about King Louis I the Great who gave Košice this coat of arms in 1369, hence, elevating the city’s prestige to an entirely different level. Its statue version by Arpád Račko can be found in the small park behind St Michael’s Church, close to the Lower Gate. Its magnificence attracts curious visitors and proud Košice residents effortlessly every day.
