Museum of the Victims of Communism
Visit the first multimedia museum that primarily focuses on people who became victims in their own country. The museum delves into the topic of individuals persecuted for various political reasons during the 40 years of communist regime. It covers two periods of communism: the years 1945 to 1968, known as the era of harsh persecutions, and the period from 1969 to 1989, known as the period of normalization, during which citizens were persecuted using sophisticated methods that kept people in constant fear.
During your visit to the museum, you can walk and stop at milestones that characterize different periods and forms of persecution. Additionally, you can listen to video testimonies of those who became classified as enemies of the state.
