400th Anniversary of the Wedding of Catherine of Brandenburg and Gabriel Bethlen

For one day, Košice will go back four centuries and bring to life the story of the wedding of Gabriel Bethlen, Prince of Transylvania, and Catherine of Brandenburg.

The historic center will be filled with a period parade, music, costumes, and the atmosphere of the 17th century. The highlight of the program will be a staged reenactment of the princely wedding and an exceptional historical exhibition at the Levoča House. The all-day program will be complemented by crafts, creative activities, period cuisine, and expert presentations.

The event combines the authentic history of Košice with culture, cuisine, and experiential activities, and aims to establish a new and attractive tradition for the city.
