The image is still on paper, but suddenly you feel as if it’s popping out into space. How is it possible that two colors and a pair of special glasses can trick our eyes?

Over the weekend of November 21 and 22, 2026, at SteelPark, you’ll explore the world of optical illusions and spatial vision through a short demonstration titled “The Mysterious Anaglyph,” based on the workshop “It’s Darkest Under the Lamp.”

The demonstrations will take place at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. and will last approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

At first glance, the image may appear blurry or even as two layers superimposed on top of each other. But then special 3D glasses come into play—and the image begins to change. What was flat and unclear just a moment ago can suddenly appear three-dimensional.

Behind this little visual trick lies the way our eyes and brain work together. Each eye perceives the world from a slightly different angle, and the brain combines these two images into a single three-dimensional perception. Anaglyphs are based on this very principle.

Children can see what happens when an image is viewed through different colored filters and explore how one object can disappear while another comes to the foreground. In doing so, they may discover that sometimes all it takes is a change in the way we look at things, and a familiar image begins to look completely different.

From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., there will also be creative workshops featuring wooden puzzles that will challenge both dexterity and spatial reasoning.

The visit will be complemented by SteelPark’s permanent interactive exhibition, where visitors can continue exploring science through experiments and interactive exhibits.
