Košice will host the opening stage of the 70th anniversary edition of the “Okolo Slovenska” international cycling race, which is the most prestigious stage race in Slovakia and part of the UCI Europe Tour calendar. The first stage, which starts and finishes in Košice, will bring world-class professional teams and Slovakia’s top cyclists to the city, where they will tackle a 162.6-kilometer route through the city’s picturesque surroundings. Challenging mountain climbs await the riders at Jahodná, Klenov, Pavelov Hill, and Folkmár, which will test their performance right from the start of the race. Fans can look forward to a unique sporting atmosphere, a ceremonial start, and a dramatic finish right in the streets of Košice.
