The play was written for the National Theatre London by Beth Steel and was nominated for the Best Play of 2024 Award immediately after its premiere. As the theatre's website says: 'This is a passionate, heartbreaking and hilarious portrayal of a larger-than-lifefamily struggling to cope with a changing world.'

During the hot summer, the family gathers for the wedding of the youngest sister, Sylvia. The sisters, the father-in-law, the crazy aunt, her husband and others, even the youngest member of the family, witness the examination not only of family relationships, but also of the contrasts of love and loyalty. What's more, a Pole, the classic economic immigrant of modern British history, is about to join the family. A wedding, after all, is often the litmus test of relationships.

THE PRODUCTION USES EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGE AND IS SUITABLE FOR AGES 18 AND OVER.
