Closing Reception and Concert: Erik Sikora – Wings of Motifs
We invite you to the closing event of the exhibition “Erik Sikora – Wings of Motifs,” which will take place on Tuesday , September 15, 2026,at 5:00 p.m. at the UPJŠ Botanical Gardenin Košice. The closing event will feature a concert.
The exhibition, titled “Wings of Motifs,” presents to the public the latest work by multimedia artist Erik Sikora, who lives and works in Košice. It consists of an extensive series of watercolors of various sizes, created specifically for this exhibition at the Botanical Garden in collaboration with the East Slovak Gallery. Most of the watercolors “grow and climb” in the butterfly greenhouse, a reference also reflected in the exhibition’s title. Since—just like last year—this is a dual-venue exhibition, some of the watercolors are also on display in “The Moving Landscape” in the courtyard of the main building of the East Slovak Gallery. Erik Sikora is best known for his videos, music, and performances, but now he has thrown himself into painting and is thoroughly enjoying it. This exhibition is a true feast for the eyes, and since Erik is not just a “Džumelec,” it’s also a great adventure—a journey to the heart of watercolor.
