Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important holidays in India. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and hope over despair. During the celebrations, diya lamps are traditionally lit, houses and streets are decorated with colorful rangoli patterns, and families gather to enjoy food, music, and dance.

The Mareena Civic Association, in collaboration with Tabačka, the Embassy of India in Slovakia, and The Common Pulse, invites you to a community Diwali celebration in Košice! Come join us to discover Indian traditions, culture, and the people who will share a piece of their world with us.

An evening full of colors, flavors, music, and lights awaits you—an evening during which you’ll not only learn about Indian culture but also actively participate in it.
