Eva Ensler is an American writer, activist, and playwright. In her 1996 work *The Vagina Monologues*, she presented authentic testimonies from women sharing their experiences of sex and female sexuality. At the time of its publication, the book was hailed as a bible for a new generation (ideally for both women and men), and even years later, it continues to shock, surprise, and provoke.
The production is part of the AURORA Voices – Women and Girls Across Europe project, which amplifies women’s voices and experiences and addresses issues related to their safety, rights, and status.
Since August 2026, Tabačka Kulturfabrik has been part of a coalition of organizations leading the Speak Out Safely: Together for Safer Workplaces campaign. SOS raises awareness about sexual harassment in the workplace and offers both employees and organizations access to prevention and support tools.
The coalition’s activities are coordinated by a team from the Košice-based organization Ženský algoritmus ( ), and other partners include Možnosť voľby ( ) and Únia rómskych materských centier.
The performance is a benefit event; proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the women’s NGO Fenestra, which advocates for women’s right to a life free of violence and is celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of its founding this year.
