General Golian

12+ (violence, fear)

The year is 1944. After ten years of unsuccessful attempts, the Golian couple finally welcome their long-awaited child. This takes place in the midst of the raging World War II and just three weeks before a major armed uprising against the German aggressors is set to break out—an uprising to be led by none other than Ján Golian himself. The couple faces a major dilemma: heroism or family? At stake is not only the future of Slovakia, but also the future of their son. In a country that is still an ally of Nazi Germany, the primary responsibility for the course of events—which would later be inscribed in Slovak history in golden letters as the Slovak National Uprising—falls on the shoulders of one man.
