It's Darkest Under the Lamp at SteelPark | workshop
Not everything that shines needs a light bulb! The workshop “It’s Darkest Under the Lamp” will bring a playful exploration of light phenomena, vibrant colors, and optical illusions that reveal the surprises hidden behind what we see.
Participants will explore how different materials behave under ultraviolet light and why certain substances can produce vibrant color effects. Through visual experiments, they’ll discover the differences between various types of luminescence and learn that even seemingly ordinary substances can hide unexpected surprises.
Fans of hands-on creation will also find something to enjoy. Using simple materials, they’ll make their own optical toy—a thaumatrope—which demonstrates how our brain combines individual images into a single whole. Science is thus combined with playfulness and a vivid demonstration of how human vision works.
The workshop “It’s Darkest Under the Lamp” offers an unusual perspective on the world around us and shows that light can reveal even what remains hidden at first glance.
