Michael Frayn: SARDINES ON STAGE, PLEASE!
A cult comedy set in the world of theater, in which the backstage plays one of the leading roles. Intelligent British humor with subtle irony. Author Michael Frayn sets the story within a theater company that is currently preparing a production of a new comedy.
While the first act shows the dress rehearsal, the second act features the long-awaited premiere, and the third act even includes an encore performance. All of this is seen from various perspectives—from the audience, to the actors and actresses, to the stage manager and the stagehand. Some, however, don’t realize that the performance has already begun.
