MY ROLE MODEL, THE DIVINE KAREL

Kristián Šebek sold out Prague's Lucerna twice with his musical project 'My Role Model, Divine Karel', his concerts across the Czech Republic have been sold out for the second year now, and his unique performance in the Czech O2 arena earned him a huge standing ovation several times. This year he is going on tour in Slovakia!

We cordially invite you to a unique concert in which a cross-section of the entire musical career of the greatest Czech-Slovak singer and Golden Nightingale will be performed with humility and reverence (not as a Revival!) by 26-year-old Kristián Šebek, accompanied by accompanying words and stories of his songs. The whole experience is enhanced by a spectacular lighting design, first-class guests and fantastic sound. All this accompanied by a fifteen-piece live orchestra.

About the project

Kristián Šebek: 'Since I was a little boy I have admired the vocal art and charm of our greatest Czech singer. I learned from him and wished I could sing not only his songs, but at least a little bit as well as he did. And so Karel Gott became my role model and still is to this day. I have been singing his songs since I was a child, and even when he was still performing, I had the idea of paying tribute to him and spreading these beautiful melodies. After his passing, we shelved these plans, fearing that we would be seen as presumptuous - only now do we dare to present our project to the world.'

We realize that there was and will be only one Karel, and we do not come with the intention of rubbing ourselves into the audience's good graces as some sort of substitute. My greatest wish is only that his songs will continue to sound and be able to delight their audiences - all in the form they deserve.

The concert is filled with a cross-section of hits by Karel Gott, Karel Svoboda, Jiri Staidl and other master songwriters - from the beginning of his career to his last concerts. All songs are richly arranged and accompanied by a live orchestra of up to 15 members, including percussion, wind section, string quartet and other instruments.
