Theatre is a strange organism. To the uninitiated, it acts as an alchemist's workshop. Different people in it mix the most unlikely ingredients in order to produce a rare thing. A production that would allow the actors and the audience to experience the extraordinary feeling of having witnessed (and co-created) an unrepeatable artistic experience right here, right now.

The creators of Night Rehearsal decided to take the audience behind the scenes of the theatre. They're not the first, of course. Perhaps the most famous literary glimpse into what precedes a theatrical premiere is Karel Čapek's novella Jak vniká divadelní hra ('A premiere is the expression of a desperate decision to let the thing finally run on its own, děj se co děj.').

At the same time, however, the night rehearsal would like to pay tribute to the professionalism of those on whom the theatre is based - the actors, singers and dancers. In the words of Rainer Lewandowski: 'Actors are, after all, the foundation of theatre. Night after night they come out in front of you and carry their skin to the market. Night after night a new challenge, a new rehearsal. And yet they never have anything certain. That is the cruelty of the profession. And beauty at the same time.'

The professional life of a dancer is extremely demanding. Builton physical drudgery and limited by age. And like every other performer, the dancer is dependent on 'who will invite him to dance'-whether he will be offered a job that will allow him to show what he has. Whether the peak of his dancing career will come at a time when he can use thatdivision to his advantage. So, the Nightschool probably pays tribute mainly to the dancers. With a smile, it points out the peripeties they sometimes have to go through, but it also does not let their art and beauty shine through.

The creators decided to dedicate the production to Juraj Kubánek, one of the greatest personalities of dance art in Slovakia.
