OTEC | Theater Performance
The main character is a father who tries to maintain his independence, refuses his daughter’s help, and increasingly doubts his own memory as well as the people around him. This captivating story—at times reminiscent of a detective novel—interweaves humorous and grotesque situations with poignant moments. It explores important themes of family relationships, aging, and responsibility for loved ones who need our help.
The play was written by contemporary French playwright Florian Zeller. The film adaptation, which he directed, won two Oscars in 2021, with Anthony Hopkins winning the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
The theater production features Emil Horváth, Zuzana Kanócz, Alexander Bárta, Helena Krajčiová, Dominika Žiaranová, and Peter Brajerčík. Soňa Ferancová is directing, Elena Flašková prepared the Slovak translation, and Ondrej Zachar designed the set.
The performance is not suitable for youth under 15 years of age.
