The creators’ goal is to produce a puppet show for children ages 5 and up and, through this theatrical performance, to present themes and ideas that foster mutual empathy and understanding. The goal of the project is to create a puppet stage production that is accessible, artistically appealing, modern, and engaging, while offering audiences themes and values that remain relevant today. This instructive and magical story, penned by Italy’s most famous children’s author, Carlo Collodi, belongs to the golden canon of world fairy tales. Generations of children have been discovering it for centuries. The story of the adventures of a wooden boy named Pinocchio continues to fascinate not only children but also adults. This is evidenced by the countless versions and adaptations of this fairy tale. The book about a wooden puppet who became a human is also an iconic source material for puppet theater. In the story, puppet theater plays a fundamental role and serves as one of the settings where the story unfolds. The fairy tale offers several key motifs and themes that remain interesting and relevant to creators of content for children and young people. Themes such as upbringing, intergenerational relationships, and the motifs of trust, solidarity, sacrifice, and—above all—truth continue to have the potential to broaden young audiences’ horizons in the areas of education, personal emotions, and values. Truth and lies are themes inextricably linked to the main character—Pinocchio. In today’s world, where lies have become a common part of elite discourse, facts are routinely distorted in debates, and society is divided over fundamental values, it is essential to foster the development of critical thinking—including through the medium of theater. The creators’ ambition is to contribute to this goal through this production as well. At the same time, it will serve as a sensitive exploration of the world of childhood and children’s experiences. The staging will utilize traditional puppetry techniques, but will contrast them with contemporary technologies. The goal of this fusion is to create a modern puppet show for the whole family that, in addition to being educational and entertaining, will also showcase the artistry of puppetry.

The production is intended for audiences ages 5 and up
