  • What does it mean to develop one’s personality (from a philosophical perspective)

  • How best to develop one’s personality (from a philosophical perspective)

Who wouldn’t want to live a content and happy life? But—what exactly is happiness? And life? And—who am I, really? Why am I here? What is the meaning of my existence? What should I do, and how should I live? People have been searching for answers to these questions since time immemorial, and surely each of us is still searching for them today—but where can we find the answers?
This is precisely what philosophy and philosophical reflection address—not as an academic field of study, but astheproverbial“love of wisdom,”universal and applicable to our daily lives, both individually and collectively.
World Philosophy Day, proclaimed by UNESCO, highlights and emphasizes precisely this significance and purpose of philosophy as a tool or path to Wisdom, and its irreplaceable—even decisive—role in the lives of each of us and in society as a whole, regardless of whether we realize it or not.
On this occasion, the New Acropolis School of Philosophy invites you to a lecture and discussion focused on the development of the human personality through the philosophical path—what this actually entails, why it makes sense to view it this way, and how to approach it.
Using concrete and practical examples, including those from today’s everyday life, we can reflect together and discuss what human personality development actually entails, why it is important for both the individual and society as a whole, and how to best develop our personalities. And why, what, and how philosophy and our ability to “philosophize” can help us in this regard.

The evening will be led by the head of the Košice branch, Mr. Rastislav Harčarufka, a New Acropolis instructor who completed a program of study in Eastern and Western philosophy, psychology, ethics, and symbolism. He leads courses and lectures in which he draws on his many years of teaching and professional practice, as well as his experience in integrating knowledge from various fields (science, technology, ethics, history, philosophy, and psychology).
