Quartet | theatrical comedy
What remains of fame as the years go by and memories slowly fade? The theatrical comedy *Quartet* offers a humorous and lighthearted answer to this question; it will be performed at the Historic Town Hall on February 15, 2027, at 6:00 p.m. Audiences can look forward to a funny and touching story performed by well-known actors, reminding us that it’s never too late for laughter, love, or life’s joys.
The MÚZA TEATRO theater, in collaboration with KUMŠT TEATRO, brings to the stage the story of four famous stars of the opera world, reunited after many years by an unexpected encounter. They once shone on stages around the world; today, with a sense of humor, they look back on the days of their greatest fame, reminiscing about past loves and romantic encounters. Their memories, however, have their gaps—after all, sometimes it’s harder to remember one’s own name or today’s breakfast menu than past successes.
It is precisely in this contrast that the charm of the entire comedy lies. With lightness and wit, it explores aging, human frailties, friendship, and nostalgia for times that will never return. Alongside humorous situations, it also offers touching moments that allow the audience to reflect on what truly matters in life.
A special highlight of the production is the cast. Božidara Turzonovová, Zuzana Kocúriková, František Kovár, and Peter Šimun will take the stage, breathing life and unique character into their roles. Martin Mňahončák directs the play, written by Donald Harwood, with the Slovak translation by Danica Hričová.
Due to its content, the play is not suitable for young people under 15 years of age.
