TASTE OF FIRE

Let’s get Ohnisko fired up to the max and kick off the October Taste of Košice festival together! This all-day festival will serve as the official opening event for Taste of Košice and will symbolically launch a month full of flavors, experiences, and exceptional Košice cuisine.

Two prominent Košice culinary projects—both recognized by renowned guidebooks—will join forces to bring you an all-day festival of global flavors, local ingredients, and the unbridled energy of fire.

Ohnisko Fire Dining & Brew Bar and La Hacienda will join their kitchens and bars together. You can look forward to a live cooking show featuring three top Košice chefs, the aroma of food cooked over an open fire, original drinks, and flavors based on products from local farmers. Košice DJs from Labell Records will liven up the atmosphere, along with a live concert and a spectacular fire show by a historical ensemble.

Three winemakers will personally showcase the Tokaj tradition; a coffee cupping session will guide you through the world of aromas and flavors of select coffees; and a bar workshop will reveal the secrets of perfectly mixed drinks. Artforum Košice will feature a selection of interesting culinary books and books about Košice, and the program will be complemented by an exhibition of local artists.

Come hungry, thirsty, and ready to kick off Taste Košice with us. This won’t just be a festival. This will be the day when the whole city gathers around a single bonfire, and Košice enters a month dedicated to gastronomy.
