THE NATURE OF SIVEC

Perhaps you, too, have a place you love to return to—a place that feels like a second home to you. For photographer FRANTIŠEK ADAMČÍK, that place is Sivec Hill and the natural surroundings of the Ružín Reservoir. He has been spending his free time in this beautiful part of Slovakia since the 1990s and has climbed to the summit more than a hundred times since then. When he began to devote himself more actively to photography, the natural landscape of Sivec and its surrounding forests became his studio.

This year, the photographer’s book *Sivec and Its Surroundings Through the Lens* was published, showcasing the most beautiful images he has captured over the past 10 years during his walks in this enchanting part of Slovakia. You can view the images that made it into the book, as well as a selection of 30 photographs, at an exhibition at the UPJŠ Botanical Garden in Košice.

As a nature lover, the author hopes this exhibition will highlight how nature on Sivec and in its surroundings is not only beautiful but also fragile—and that is all the more reason why we should cherish and protect it.
